What is fear coaching?
Fear coaching is a form of coaching with the goal to dissolve fears and mental blocksAn anxiety coach works with their coachees to teach them techniques that can help control and overcome stressful feelings like anxiety.
But “anxiety coaching” is actually a wrong term. Because it suggests that coaches are allowed to treat anxiety disorders such as social anxiety, phobias and generalized anxiety disorders. But that is not the case! Diagnosed anxiety disorders can only be treated by doctors, alternative practitioners and psychotherapists. However, a coach can help people to deal with undiagnosed and personal emotional stress such as dealing with life crises, anxiety or stress.
A more precise term would be “coaching against anxiety” or “coaching for emotional stress”. For the sake of better understanding, however, we will stick to the common terms “anxiety coaching” and “anxiety coach” in this article.
